AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION - We invite you to make an Act of Spiritual Communion if you are not attending Mass physically by praying: My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You. AMEN!

RENEW MY CHURCH UPDATES - NEW PARISH
> READ NEW PARISH DECREE - RMC (PDF)
We began a new era for our parish with the inclusion of Our Lady of the Ridge beginning in July 2021. We are extremely optimistic about the future of this ‘new reality'. We have officially begun the union of our parishes from two entities into one.
- The combination of the website and bulletin - Work is advancing toward this goal. Most bulletin content is, now the same.
- Offertory Envelopes - Until the time when we combine the parish database from Our Lady of the Ridge and St. Linus, you
can use your regular offertory envelopes at either
church. Checks can be made payable to either Our
Lady of the Ridge (OLOR) or St. Linus (STL) or both
(OLOR-STL) no matter which offertory envelope is
used. Your contribution will be recorded on your
regular parish database account. Thank you for
your continued financial support.
- OLOR VOICE - The OLOR VOICE gift card incentive program is now available through the St. Linus (STL) SCIP program. Registration and weekly order forms can be picked up at either OLOR or STL rectory during regular business hours. Orders must be dropped off at the STL rectory by 9 AM Monday morning. If the STL rectory is closed, orders can be placed through the mail slot in the STL rectory front door. Orders are available for pick up on the following Thursday at the STL rectory, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Due to Covid, cash and carry orders have been temporarily discontinued. If you have any questions, please call 708-425-0251.
- USHERS AND GREETERS NEEDED - HELP - Greeters are needed for all OLOR Masses at 5 pm, 9 am and 11 am. Please, if you regularly attend one of these Masses, think of volunteering as an Usher or Greeter. We need everyone’s help. Please consider giving of your time and talent to your parish. Please call Bob O’Dell, OLOR Usher & Greeter Coordinator, and leave a message at 708-297-0699 if you wish to volunteer your time as a greeter or usher. Thank you!
CHURCH OFFERTORY SUPPORT DURING PANDEMIC - You can use our Church Online Giving - GiveCentral to submit your contributions. Also, The Archdiocese has created an online giving page to support parishes during this time. Donors are able to make an online donation at www.archchicago.org/offertory and designate to OUR Parish Church - ST. LINUS. You may also place your envelopes in the mail slot of the door of the Parish Office.
It is critically important that our parishes and pastors receive the offertory support they need to remain operational and sustainable despite the suspension of weekly Masses. The Archdiocese has developed a universal online offertory page where the faithful can make an offertory donation to any parish in the Archdiocese. These donations will assist the parishes with ongoing expenses related to ministry, maintenance, staff and other pressing needs, that depend on regular offertory support from parishioners. I encourage you to contribute online to your parish at or above your usual offertory amount. Many of our parishes are suffering significant financial hardship during this challenging time. Your online support will make a critical difference.
Additionally, as we are sensitive to the financial hardship suffered by many in recent days, the Archdiocese have also launched a Coronavirus Emergency Fund. This fund will support members of our community who have been negatively affected by the pandemic. For example, the fund will support parents of Catholic school students who might struggle with tuition payments because of unexpected job loss, ministries providing the needy with sustenance or parish communities deeply harmed by the pandemic. Our neighbors down the street and across the Archdiocese need our support at this critical moment. Your donation can help provide them with that support.
Please visit www.archchicago.org/coronavirus/donate to support parish offertory, the Coronavirus Emergency Fund or both as your means allow. Your generosity is needed now more than ever. Our Archdiocese community has always come together to support one another during times of need, and I ask you to do so again. Please continue to pray for each other, as I continue to pray for you.
ARCHDIOCESAN RESOURCES - Please pray for each other, and for all those affected by this virus. Check this website homepage and the Archdiocesan website www.archchicago.org/coronavirus for more information and updates.
May God bless you and your families and Thank You for your understanding!
Thank you visiting the St. Linus Church Website. Our Lady of the Ridge / St. Linus Parish adheres to the Gospel belief, spoken by Jesus: “Wherever two or three are gathered in my name, I am in the midst of them”. We experience God’s presence in the Holy Scripture, the Sacraments, our community and our service. Welcome All!!
