CRS RICE BOWL - During Lent

Join our faith community - and more than 14,000 Catholic communities across the United States - in a life-changing Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl. During the 40 days of Lent, we will reflect on the challenge of global hunger and how it affects our human family.

Rice Bowls are available in the church. Please feel free to pick one up to enhance your Lenten journey.

When Jesus fed the 5,000, he said, “Give them some food yourselves”. Reflect on the challenge of global hunger. How can you contribute to support the hungry in your community?

LENTEN REGULATIONS - During Lent

ABSTINENCE from meat is to be observed by all Catholics 14 years of age and older on Ash Wednesday and on all Fridays in Lent.

FASTING is to be observed on Ash Wednesday and on Good Friday by all Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 59 years of age. Those who are bound by this may take only one full meatless meal. Two smaller meatless meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one’s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted.

The special Paschal fast and abstinence are prescribed for Good Friday and encouraged for Holy Saturday.

PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Adoration in the Jesus Light of the World Adoration Chapel - Enter from parking lot. The Chapel is open from 6 am and closes at Midnight. We are looking for Adorers to cover the Midnight to 6 am slots. The Chapel doors lock at 9 pm, and reopen at 6 am. If you can sign up for an hour after 9 pm, you will need a key.

The rosary is said each week day after the 7 am and 8:30 am Masses and
after the 8:30 am Mass on Saturday.

ST. LINUS SEEKING WISDOM PRAYER GROUP

We’re a small group of about a dozen people. We meet for one hour on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 am. in the Cardiff Center. We gather to renew our faith each week and to pray for our needs and the needs of others.

We examine the readings for the upcoming weekend in church and use a guide to help us understand the Scriptures better. Come join us!
