Monday, April 22 was Earth Day and our 5th Grade Classes
used that opportunity to clean up around the school.

They cleaned the whole campus from the church to the football field!
Way to go 5th Grade we are so proud of you!

Our Kindergarten Classes went on their annual trip to
Barraco’s to learn how they make pizza.

They got to watch a demonstration and then have an opportunity to make their own pizzas,
and then get to eat some delicious pizza! What a great time they had.

The Kindergarteners in Mrs. Blackburn’s Class making pufferfish for their coral reef unit!

Our 1st Grade Students are doing a great job reading announcements this month.
Here are Lucas Folliard and Lily Clarke from Ms. Yerkes’ room doing an amazing job.

The students in Ms. Anderson's 2nd Grade class are learning about
Plants + Animals in their Science unit.

Currently, each student planted 2 green bean seeds and will be treating each plant
differently to observe any differences there may be!

Our 4th Grade Students enjoyed reading “The Lemonade Wars” for their reading lesson.
They enjoyed the activities and being able to read in small groups.
Here they are when they finished the book.

Our 4th and 5th Grade Students had an amazing time
at the Museum of Science and Industry.

They visited so many exciting exhibits including the train, the plane and this exhibit on air pressure!
Thanks teachers for showing them such a great part of our city.

Our 8th Grade Students went to Springfield right before Easter break
and had a wonderful time exploring the history of Illinois and Lincoln.
Here they are in the State Capitol Building.

Congratulations to Maggie Lavin and Jack Wasilowski, Class of ‘24,
on receiving the Erica Heilmann Scholarship.

The scholarship is to help defray the cost of their 8th Grade tuition and is based on grades,
volunteer hours and an essay about the importance of giving back to the community.
