St. Linus School Hawky Tonk Country Fest
St. Linus School Spring Fundraiser
Saturday, May 5, 2018
from 7 to 11 pm at St. Linus Football Field
Dear Linus Friends,
Thank you for your interest and support of our Annual Spring Fundraiser!! Once again this year the money raised from this event will be going toward enhancing and growing our Fine Arts Program. Past funds were put to good use. They allowed us to hire a music teacher, buy a classroom full of instruments, sheet music, music supplies, art supplies and state of the art equipment for the art room and music room. We started a brand new Junior High Theatre Program with our first production “Godspell” and our upcoming production of “Aladdin Jr” in April 2018. Your support of our past events touched the lives of each and every student here at St. Linus and we are all very grateful. You helped us accomplish so very much in such a short time!
Students who participate in the arts do better in the core subjects than students who do not. The arts help students develop essential tools, pattern recognition and development. Dancing and movement help develop gross motor skill and sharing their art enhances social skills. So as you can see, including the arts in the curriculum is a win/win for everyone especially the students.
Your support for the Spring Fundraiser is a blessing to all of us at St. Linus School. With your donation, sponsorship and attendance you are helping to insure a well rounded education for our students and you are keeping us competitive and relevant here in Oak Lawn and the Southwest Suburbs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
It’s a Great Day to be a Hawk,
Margaret Hayes, Principal
